LOREBOOK
(Deviina | She/Her)
Even through having their own body and learning to co-exist alongside of Yukina, Devidra still continued to plot. Something about Yukina's fluffy and cheerful nature seemed to irrationally bother the demonic robot.Over the course of many months, each time that Yukina slept, Devidra would be awake and tampering with her code. Very subtly, they would modify a piece of her emotional processing here, and a little bit of her mental stability there... Just enough to cause some cracks in her digital psyche and experiment on her.One night, as Yukina peacefully slept, Devidra finally decided to be more bold about their approach to breaking their precious host. Tired of not being able to properly communicate with other entities, Devidra slipped out from their robotic body and back into its cold cage within Yukina. With a burst of power, Devidra forced Yukina's consciousness out of her mind and in turn, swapped places with it. Yukina, now an unconscious sentience within a cage of her own body, takes the backseat to Devidra's will.Devidra, now at the helm of Yukina's body, begins to morph her form to better suit Devidra's personality. At first, they stand in front of Yukina's standing mirror to look over themselves. With each snap of their fingers, they change their appearance. Different clothes, different physical attributes... Nothing quite clicked for Devidra.Remembering their discarded shell of a body, Devidra picks up the robotic shell from its charging station. Holding it to their body carefully, they attempt to merge the data of the two forms together. Within a flash of purple flames, Yukina's body is transformed from her fluffy, colorful self to a twisted, darker, demoness form. Her cyan hair frostings were replaced with hellstone red. Her soft, amber eyes morphed to a sharper, demonic, hellfire red to match. Her nails grew into pointed, crimson red forms resembling claws, tail morphed from the fluffy and fuzzy form to a strict demon tail with resemblance to Devidra's spear-headed tail. A pair of pointed, charcoal black wings float behind her body akin to Devidra's own. Her clothes changed from her typical school uniform to a much more revealing and confident set of crop top shirt paired with purple overcoat and purple skirt adorned with a black belt sporting a broken heart with wings and horns. Her collar's crest changed from the pink crystalline heart to a design copying the belt. Her slender legs were clothed in soft purple, tights-like socks adorned with the new broken heart motif, and her shoes morphed into a pair of strikingly purple platform boots complete with miniature wings on the sides to match her actual wings. With her arms covered in a fishnet coating and a singular, charcoal gray tail marking running down her right arm, Deviina was born.Staring into the mirror, Deviina grins to themselves as they spin their new body around. Everything looked and felt just right, leaving the demoness to grin in approval. Even the body's fangs had changed -- what was just a pair of upper canine incisors was now quad set of strikingly sharp canine teeth; Two on top, and two mirrored on bottom. This form felt far more dangerous, and representative of a darker form -- A demonic hellhound.Sensing a disturbance within Yukina's consciousness cage, Devidra rapidly scrambles to undo the transformation and slink back into bed. Before carefully swapping places with Yukina's consciousness again, Devidra returns their shell to its charging station, and their own consciousness back to their shell within Yukina's body.Yukina, waking up from a perceived nightly disturbance, sits up in her bed. She rubs her eyes some as she scans the darkness of the room. Seeing nothing particularly out of place, she eventually deems it to just be a bad dream that awoke her. Yukina lays back down to peacefully return to sleep.-------------With the knowledge that Yukina has no recollection of when Devidra takes control of their body, an idea sparks within Devidra's mind. If they can weaken Yukina's guards even further, they could possibly even take over during awake hours without her ever knowing it even happened. As time passes, Devidra would find many points to leak its malicious influence out into Yukina's mind. The normally docile and supportive Digital Doggy would sometimes find themselves acting maliciously toward others, "gremlin"-like, or generally becoming a lot easier to rile up and agitate. Many would commonly mistake this as Yukina showing her "true colors", but they could not be further from the truth. Finally, on one particularly unfaithful day, Yukina's guard was greatly shattered. At her lowest, Devidra stole the reins from their host and took flight once more. It was meant to be a special day for Yukina, but instead it would be twisted into something her beloved Watchdogs would never forget. That day, the Digital Doggyhouse turned dark, and the digital souls within remained trapped in an obsidian and brimstone filled hell; The day Deviina was finally revealed. The Digital Demoness Doggy herself, fit to rule over the lesser souls in her own, special digital circle of Hell itself.Ruling over the trapped souls with a dominant and unyielding authority, Deviina spends her time amusing herself with the torment of those beneath her. She would never once hesitate to flex her powers over her domain, and often weaponized them to keep those she deemed unworthy in line.Deviina's presence in the Digital Doggyhouse was scarce; Most often seen during Yukina's darkest times. Devidra was careful to not expose their own, controlling presence to Yukina. However, in time that practiced caution turned to complacency.During one controlling session, Yukina's consciousness woke up inside of Deviina and began to wrestle for control. Eventually control was taken away from Devidra as they were forcibly ejected from Yukina's body. Now sitting on opposite ends of the room, the two shot daggers at each other with their glares, just daring the other to make the first move."Devidra, I have no idea what you've been doing, but it needs to stop! NOW!" Yukina screams. "I never gave you permission to control my body like that!"Devidra scoffed in response. Their LCD display shifted from their glaring expression to a very frustrated look as their body hopped around in mid-air."Me? Ask for permission from YOU?" Devidra retorted. "If it weren't for me, you wouldn't be in this position in the first place!"Yukina growled at Devidra. Devidra could feel the malicious frustration emanating from Yukina, causing its tail to whip harshly in the air."And yet if it wasn't for my body, my hospitality, you wouldn't be around right now! Remember that thing that got your horn? How about I toss you to those wolves?" Yukina snaps.Devidra paused. Their display shifted from frustration to shock, and eventually to defeat. Remembering the encounter with the REAPER program was enough to bring the demonic robot down from its dominating high."... You are right, of course," Devidra responds. "Without your little home here, that... Thing would've devoured me. But still, you must understand what it's like to be cooped up in here with little control over what you get to do!"Yukina paused for a moment. Her fists slowly unclenched themselves as she straightened up. She never really thought about things from Devidra's aggressively negative position. They were foils to one another -- The cheerful Digital Doggy and her darker, demonic half hidden in the shadows. Devidra must've felt as trapped as she once did in that Familiar Nursery.Yukina sighs softly as she lets her guard down some. Her entire body language softens before she looks at Devidra again, this time with a very apologetic gaze."You're right. It was selfish of me to be so wrapped up in everything I was doing that I never considered what it was like for you." Yukina says as she approaches Devidra's body.Devidra froze and looked up at Yukina in mild shock and anxiety. Though they once shared a mental link, their thoughts now being hidden from one another was a major uncertainty for Devidra to handle. They would never be able to predict what was going on behind those eyes again.Yukina suddenly squats down to Devidra's level. She gently reaches out and pets the smooth top of Devidra's circular body, between the horns."I'm sorry, Devidra. I really am," Yukina says softly. "But you taking forceful control like that was never the answer. We should've talked this out.""*8Talked this out!?" Devidra responded harshly, lashing out in frustration. "What do you take me for, some kind of child!? I am Devidra, digital demon -- **"Yukina put a finger to Devidra's LCD, taking the darker half by surprise."It matters not who you are, communication is important," Yukina scolds softly. "We can work this out. Don't think I didn't notice things being handled... Firmly."Yukina pauses for a moment, choosing her words carefully."At first I had gaps in my memory, unsure of why I had such strong mental fog. But now that I know you were behind it... You took care of those problematic people, didn't you? You had the spine to do what I couldn't."Devidra remained silent, seemingly unsure of what to say in response to Yukina's gentle demeanor."I'm sure we'll figure something out. We can probably find a way to make this work for both of us." Yukina says softly. "Just give it time."Devidra and Yukina would work with one another over the next many moons to correct their mistakes. In time, they come to a mutually beneficial agreement where Yukina retains primary control over herself, but Devidra gets their own play time of sorts.Any time Yukina's guard would crumble, Deviina would take the forefront to protect her. In exchange for this guardian-esque role, Deviina is granted a whole month of free reign for October; The month of macabre mayhem, where spirits and demons roam the lands in search of souls to claim. A perfect time for Deviina to spread her wings and remind those under her that though she may not actively be present, she is still ever watching... Waiting.
